Interesting facts:
Marilyn was born June 1st, 1926, and she died on August 5th, 1962. She had been awarded many titles throughout her life, such as, "The Most Advertied Girl in the World", "Sexiest Woman of the Century", "Sweetheart of the Month", and many more. Elton John recorded the song "Candle in the Wind" as a tribute to Marilyn Monroe. She was also crowned "Miss California Artichoke Queen" in 1947. Historical analysis:
Marilyn Monroe's real name was "Norma Jeane Baker". She got a film contract at the age of 20 (1946), and was a hit in a number of films, though they were not extremely popular. As she developed her acting career, she became progressively more present in the movie world; eventually, she won a Golden Globe Award for her performance in "Some Like it Hot". Her "beautiful but stupid" appearance limited her, so she founded "Marilyn Monroe Productions". Her life ended through suicide, when she overdosed on anti-depressants.
Marilyn was the scandalous, hot topic of the 50's. She did modeling, acting, and preformance. She appeared on the covers of magazines, such as Playboy, Yank, Look, and True experiences. She was the star of countless films, and is well known for several preformances -- one of which was when she sang "Happy Birthday" to president John F. Kennedy.
